Take payment for a late cancellation/no show charge

Written by Dr Askari

You may wish to charge a fee when a client fails to attend an appointment or cancels at short notice. To do this, first, ensure that you have set up late cancellation/no show rules.

You must also create a service - we recommend that you call this "Late cancellation fee/No show charge" or similar. Set the availability of this service to "Sell only" (you will not want to be able to book this service).

You will still need to complete the required fields for creating a service such as staff and rooms but, in this case, they will not be relevant.

Charge a client a late cancellation/no show fee

  1. Select POS in the right hand menu & search for the client

  2. Click "SERVICE" in the "Add invoice item" box at the bottom of the screen

  3. Search for the "late cancellation fee/no show" service

  4. Select the "Sold by" staff member and click "Add item"

TIP : šŸ’”

Add saved card details for all clients before allowing them to book an appointment. Explain your policy for missed and late cancelled appointments - repeat this in your confirmation emails.

If you need to take payment, you can then charge their card without further contact.
