If a new resource (service, category, product etc) is created in Collums, the error message “name already in use” will appear. There must be another resource with the same name within the system. Choose another name and try again.

If you wish to use the chosen name for your new resource, you will first need to change the name of the old one. If that resource is archived, it must be un-archived before the name can be changed.

If you cannot see the duplicate resource, it is likely to be inactive or archived. Tick the “show archived” and “show inactive” checkboxes in the top right hand corner to show it.

Un-archive and rename a resource

  1. When viewing the list of resources in the relevant admin page, click the "Options" button to its right.

  2. Click "Unarchive"

  3. Click on the name to open the edit modal.

  4. Update the name to something else.

  5. Click "Save"

  6. Don't forget to archive the resource again via the Options button!

Now the name has been changed you can continue to create your new service in the normal way.
